What is Lagos Life?
Lagos Life is a free, browser-based life simulation in the spirit of The Sims, set in a shared, Lagos-inspired city. You build a Sim, take a birth lottery (rich Nepo Baby or indebted LAPO Baby), work shifts, pay rent every Saturday and spend free time at real Lagos spots — and everyone you bump into is a real player. It passed 1 million players within three days of launch.
Is Lagos Life an app?
No. Lagos Life is not a downloadable app — there is no App Store or Google Play listing, and any download claiming to be Lagos Life should be treated with suspicion. It runs directly in your browser at lagoslife.app; on a phone you can add it to your home screen so it behaves like an app.
Who created the Lagos Life game?
Nigerian developer Shalom Rayhamen, also known as Eliy (the operator named in the game's terms). He has said the idea came from growing up with The Sims 3 and from the danfo-driving browser game Lagos Run. It launched on 1 October 2026 and went viral within days.
